The match started with an intense Madrid, very attentive when recovering the ball and with a lot of criteria when moving the game from side to side of the pitch. Neuer had some great actions that prevented Real from taking the lead, but the truth is that the germans managed to overcome this good start of the spanish team in a quite solvent way. Although Real Madrid managed to keep a strong control of the game, they did not seem to be able to find any real weaknesses in the rival team. 0-0 and fifteen minutes to try to decide how to tip the balance in his favor.

At the start of the second half, Los Blancos picked up where they left off and even took a slight step forward on the offensive. Toni Kroos moved slightly forward and began to link up effectively with the forward line. It must be said Bayern never was on the ropes, but the truth is that in what was possibly the best phase of Anchelotti's boys, Davies, who had already created problems with the first balls that came to his feet after his entrance to the field, decided to take a violent shot from his sleeve that Lunin could do little about. The ball crashed into the net and hearts in the spanish capital stopped for a few seconds.

The next thing that was immediately heard was the “¿Como no te voy a querer? (How can I not love you?)” from all parts of the stadium. A fan base used to see miracles was already beginning to believe in another night to remember at the Santiago Bernabeu. All cards face up and once again on the edge of that precipice where the boys in the white shirts seem to move like fish in water.

Ancelotti moved some pieces and left the team playing with a 4-3-3 with Vinicius, Joselu and Brahim in the most advanced positions. The team was turning the field towards the goal of the Munich team that gave up forward positions to add defenders to help interpose themselves to the onslaught. As the clock ticked down to the last two minutes of the match, Neuer let a ball slip that Joselu, who a year ago was fighting to avoid relegation with Espanyol, took advantage of to level the score and leave the feeling on the pitch that the advantage was now on Real Madrid's side.

The atmosphere in the stadium was one of celebration. It seemed impossible that the 14-time european champions were going to let this opportunity slip away. The faces on the Bayern players reflected the pressure of the moment and left little room for doubt. Not three minutes after the ball had been put into play from the center spot, Rüdiger, who by now was attacking the byline like a winger, unloaded a cross in the direction of Joselu, who deflected it towards goal leaving Neuer with virtually no chance of getting to the ball. 2-1.

Bayern wanted to get back into the game, but had little time left. After a discussed play in which the referee stopped a counter-attack by Kane for offside, which may have seemed at least close and in which the ball ended up inside the goal with a Militao and Lunin already passive, the match came to an end. The hymn began to play over the PA system and all the fans in the world began to dream of “La Decima”.

Book that day in your diary because Real Madrid is in another Champions League final and we all know that they are not used to losing them. This generation of boys, who have just started their career, have done it again and are one more time at the top of European soccer.
